The Tiger is available in two sizes (2 - 4 yrs and 3 - 6 yrs) with three innovative designs to choose from.
- A fully independent trike without any carer supervision.
- Carer Braking from the rear by detachable cord (Carer pulls to apply the brakes) See photo lower left.
- Full steering and braking from the rear by control arm (Carer moves the arm left and right to steer - pulls back to brake) See photo upper left & above
Fully Independent Tigers (Type 1) are ideal for children who steer; brake and are safety aware. Typical application would be a child with a restricted growth condition.
Carer Braked Tigers (Type 2) are ideal for children who steer but don't brake or who are not danger aware. Typical application would be a child with behavior problems. The design includes a park brake.
Fully Carer Controlled Tigers (Type 3) are ideal for children who have blindness or severe learning difficulties. These are very high tech machines which feature a removable control arm and a park brake.
Because This type of Tiger also incorporates the Carer Brake feature (type 2 Tigers) in its design, it is ideal for schools and playgroups because one Tiger can quickly be converted to suit any child in the group.
Pedal Spacing
Many tricycles for young children have wide spaced pedals but the Tigers unique design features pedals at a natural spacing which makes pedaling so much easier and keeps posture and symmetry just as they should be.
Technical Design
The design and engineering of the Tiger is in a class of its own and features a drive that is silent and almost friction free in use. Tomcat make a detailed assessment of your child's requirements to ensure the Tiger will be just what your child needs. As with all our products we are pleased to give you help and advice on how and where to seek funding and best of all, when your Tiger is ready you are welcome to come to Tomcats workshops to collect your trike and have it expertly fitted. We will make sure that geometry and posture is just as it should be, and show you how all its multi features and adjustments can ensure you get years of use from your trike.
